The Takeover Tour (PWHL's Version)

The PWHL may not have had 10 seasons, but that won't stop them from taking their game on the road and touring North America. Yesterday, the league announced some news that's bound to make fans feel like they're living in a Lavender Haze: the PWHL is hitting the road with the Takeover Tour.

This initiative is more than just a scheduling choice; it's a statement. This tour will feature nine season games played in neutral cities, giving fans across the U.S. and Canada the chance to experience the magic of the PWHL firsthand. Whether you're a long-time supporter or just discovering the league, the Takeover Tour is bound to leave you feeling Enchanted.

It's Nice to have a Friend (In Every City)

The Takeover Tour is exactly what is sounds like: a hockey invasion of cities without a PWHL team. Over the course of the season, the league will bring its energy, elite players, and electric atmosphere to nine carefully chosen locations.

But don't worry, these games aren't just Blank Space on the schedule. Each stop is an opportunity to showcase the talent of the PWHL, expand the league's reach, and build the fanbase with new audiences. The PWHL carefully selected each stop based on fan enthusiasm and interest, ensuring the tour is full of vibrant crowds ready to make some noise. With the tour mostly taking place in NHL venues, the atmosphere is guaranteed to be Fearless.

The tour will make stops across the U.S. and Canada in both big and smaller markets, with a special emphasis on neutral cities. Here's where you can catch the action:

From the Pacific Northwest in Seattle to as far east as Quebec City and as far south as Raleigh, this tour is bringing the game to new markets and creating unforgettable moments for fans along the way. With stops in cities like Buffalo, Detroit, and Seattle, the PWHL will be tapping into established hockey fanbases while introducing new fans to the sport. And with some games in cities without PWHL teams yet, we could be seeing the future home of new franchises. Maybe we are The Lucky One.

Call it What You Want : Expansion

The Takeover Tour isn't just a way for the league to "tour" and fill arenas. It's about expanding the PWHL's reach and solidifying its place in the sports industry, but more importantly, in the hearts of hockey fans. By visiting new cities, the league broadens its reach and introduces the PWHL to fresh audiences, spanning from coast to coast.

As PWHL Senior Vice President of Business Operations Amy Scheer said in their press release, "Bringing PWHL games to fans across both countries is a natural next step as we continue building our audience." After all, you can't be a global superstar if you don't take your show on the road.

The tour is not just about getting games on the calendar but about sharing the wonder of women's hockey with the world, and the first step to a successful season is creating new fans who will feel Ready for It every time the PWHL hits the ice. It's about showing up to cities like St. Louis and Denver, where hockey culture is growing, and showing the league's top talent. It's an open invitation to join a movement that's only growing stronger.

And don't forget, each stop brings the magic. These games will not only showcase the PWHL's elite athletes but also fosters new communities of fans. It's a chance for people to connect with their favorite players, share their Wildest Dreams, and become part of the PWHL's growing fanbase.
